Spinz-A-Round
A Food Recovery Program that repurposes food such as fresh produce, bread and dry goods that we pick up from local merchants, suppliers and other donors. We then provide this food to our client agencies.
What is Spinz-a-round?
Spinz-A-Round collects fresh produce, bread and other donations from suppliers, donors and partner organizations . Multiple agencies and organizations come to the Spinz-A-Round Program at 3751-21 Street N.E. to pick up the donated food to take back to their agencies. Then they provide it to their clients who are in need. In order to receive any of the food available through the Spinz-A-Round Program, you must be with an agency or organization that is a part of the program.
Where is Spinz-A-Round located?
The Spinz-A-Round Program runs out of the Community Kitchen Program’s Warehouse.
Why does the program exist?
Spinz-A-Round Program operates to help families all over the city of Calgary receive food they otherwise may not have obtained on their own. The recipients of the rescued food through go through an organization or agency who has signed up for the program and come faithfully each week to pick up and deliver.
When does the program run?
The Spinz-A-Round program runs twice a week, Tuesday mornings and Thursday mornings. Doors open – 9:00am Doors close – 10:00am Agencies and organizations only are able to sign up for one of the two days. A maximum of two representatives of the agencies come to choose the food items, box them, and pack them into their vehicle.

How can I get involved?
If you are an agency/organization(not for profit) and would like to sign up for Spinz-A-Round program, please follow these steps:
Read the Spinz-A-Round Rules
Complete the Registration Form and a Cover Letter on your organization's letterhead and signed by the person representing the agency
Submit the Registration form and Cover Letter to steve.kennard@ckpyyc.ca
Please note that the Spinz-A-Round program is now at full capacity and we cannot add any more agencies at this time. However, please feel free to submit your application and we will ensure it is placed in queue for the day you have chosen. When there are openings, you will be notified when you can start.
